The Hornet XL cannot be forced into any fixed role. Spencer Reiter developed the knife as an E.D.C. (Every-Day-Carry) knife that is made for everyday tasks. Whether it's used to cut a thread, open boxes, or carve a stick in your spare time. The possibilities are almost endless. Richly colored cocobolo wood serves as the handle material for this model, which is found on the west coast of Central America, especially southern Mexico, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. The wood is dark orange to deep red and streaked with black veins. With constant use and occasional care, cocobolo wood becomes more attractive over the years. The beautifully striped cocobolo wood again emphasizes the E.D.C. character of the Hornet XL model in its appearance.
